Sustainability Trip

Puerto Rico

Through a comprehensive background of Puerto Rico’s history and culture, we will examine the implications of pre- and modern-day colonial history on the island and investigate alternative methods of supporting the community beyond contemporary and monetary-centered U.S. policies. Working alongside local organizations and community members, we will learn from mutual aid and grassroots organizing, exploring how these collaborative, anti-establishment methods foster community-driven resilience, while contributing to a community-based service project focused on strengthening shared spaces, resources, and long-term community well-being.
