Environmental Justice Trip

We will be examining the intersection of environmental and food justice as they relate to Oakland, CA. Throughout this trip, we will provide a historical lens on the harmful effects of colonialism to land rights as they intersect with environmentalism and food access. We will discuss how marginalized communities continue to lack access to nutritious food and examples of indigenous-led resistance.
Through working with Common Vision we will understand the importance of community-building and ground-up advocacy as a form of resistance.
